A Motion is a document filed with the Court to ask that the Court take certain action in a case. The person filing the Motion must also file a Proposed Order, a Notice of Motion and Opportunity to Object, and a Certificate of Service. Note: Under Local Rule 9014-1( c) (2), the deadline to file an objection for most motions is 14 days after service. For matters covered by F.R.Bankr.P. 2002(a), the deadline is 21 days after service.

Note: A Certificate of Service is a document that shows the Court and others when and how a Motion was served on interested parties in the case.
